Type 1 diabetes is faced by about 5% of the total diabetic patients. This diabetes is majorly seen in children and the exact cause is still unknown. In Ayurveda type 1 diabetes is known as Sahaja or jataj prameha. As per Ayurveda, there are about 20 types of prameha that are classified based on the imbalance in major dosha out of which around 10 are based on the imbalance of Kapha dosha, 6 due to the imbalance in Pitta dosha, and 4 from the imbalance caused by Vata dosha.
